BMW PGA Championship

May 2015

Lee managed to get in a little UK family time and a Ping Golf Day before heading to Close House on Saturday.

He travels to Wentworth this week for the BMW PGA Championship. In 2011 he lost in a play-off to Luke Donald and last year finished T35th in the event which suffered from weather delays due to heavy rain and lightning.

Following the Players Awards ceremony on Tuesday evening, Wednesday sees the Celebrity Pro Am.  Lee is in the afternoon groupings  â€œThe BMW PGA Pro-Am is always a lot of fun, and this year should be great with Alan, Ant and Dec as my playing partners. I know all three guys pretty well so I’m sure there will be a bit of banter flying around, and it will be a nice, relaxed day before the serious business starts on Thursday.”

Playing alongside Robert Dinwiddie (Stephen Gallacher withdrew) and Tommy Fleetwood, Lee has an 8.25 start from the on Thursday and 12.50 on Friday.

Lee recorded a fiirst round of 72 (par) to lie in T38th place. "Practice done. Hopefully hit it better tomorrow", he later tweeted.

Having not missed the cut since 2009, Lee was in danger of missing out when he was 3-over by the 13th. Thanks to birdies at the last two holes, he made the cut set at 1-over and lies in T62nd place.

He had an early 7.25 start on Saturday with Romain Wattel. Three birdies and a bogey on the outward nine were followed by bogeys at 10 and 13, for Lee to remain on even par 72 for the day and now in T61st place, on 1-over par.

Lee had an 8.05 tee-time for the final round, with Ernie Els. Lee had a  roller coaster on the front nine, opening with a bogey 6 at the par-4 1st, a birdie at 2, an eagle at 4 and another double bogey at the 9th, to go out on even par. With a bogey at the 10th, he then added birdies at 12 and the final four holes to record a 3-under 69, a final score of 2-under 286 and T38th on the leaderboard.

Byeong-hun An won the event on 21-under par.
