Lee remained in the States after attending Sergio Garcia's wedding last Wednesday and travelled to Akron for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational which begins on 3rd August.
His best finish was T2nd in 2008 and he finished T17th when he last played here in 2015.
Lee had a 7.30 (local) tee-time from the 10th on Thursday, ending 2-over for the day. He is playing alongside Brendan Steele and Russell Knox for the first two rounds. Thomas Pieters leads on 5-under par.
He had an 8.30 start for the second round but dropped way down the leaderboard after carding a 78 and now +10. Making 4 birdies with two bogeys (68) he moved up the leaderboard to +8.
Adding a 3-under 67 to his scorecard on the final day, Lee finished T47th on +5, with Hideki Matsuyama taking a 5 shot lead, 16 under par to win the title.
